A little About Me

I live in Honduras and being three planes away from home I was nervous about attending Trinity University. I thought I would soon be home sick and would want to go back; However that as not been the case so far. The moment I arrived at Trinity I felt at home and I have loved it here. I have been fascinated by the people, the campus, the city and even the food! My name is Maria Andrea Matamoros (its long and hard to pronounce) and it is so funny how I already I will be asked to repeat my name several times when I introduce my self to new friends or teachers. I already know they will make a funny face and unsuccessfully will try to repeat it. But that's okay because when I was younger not even my older sister could pronounce it and started calling me "Miti". Since then, most people know me by that name and it is allot easier to remember.

Honduras is a beautiful country and I truly feel proud that I come from there. I miss the cool weather, the amazing beaches, the soccer games and especially the familiar faces at every corner of such a small city as Tegucigalpa. I already have my hands full with work and activities planned for this semester at Trinity.

I was a cheerleader for five years at high school so I am very interested in joining the Trinity cheerleading squad and support our teams. I love animals and have tons of pets at home. Among them, two macaws, five dogs, one fish, six love birds and two turtles. I consider that something interesting about me. Even though I use my computer all the time, post pictures, chat, send emails and download music; I am sure there is still much I have to learn about my computer and I definitely need to improve my skills.

These are some of the wonderful friends I have met at Trinity and that just like me, are happy to be here!
