A little advice...
I had a hard time thinking of a piece of advice to give to someone else because so many times I feel I do not follow my own. Yet I realized there is one thought by which I have always lived and that is: Put your entire heart, soul and intellect to even the smallest of things! Be persistent!! I am sure only good things will come with that! Good luck! :)

Power Point Presentations
The power point presentations I liked the most were Daniela's, Shannon's and Alexandra's. I liked both Daniela's and Alexandra's presentation for their unique animations. They were both very creative. I liked Shannon's presentation because after it I realized how important timing is in a power point presentation which is something I had not even thought about. When doing a power point presentation it is important to:
1. Use a legible font with the right size and color.
2. Pictures and animations are important, however to much can distract the audience.
3. Good presentations only contain bullets of information instead of large paragraphs.
4. Audio can add an extra touch to the presentation only when appropriate.
5. Most importantly, a power point presentation should be creative, attractive and a good source of information for the audience.

I AM the TIME's Person of the Year for 2006

It is hard to explain in words the evolution of the web through out the years and the impact it is creating today around the world in people's daily life yet I believe the article TIME Person of The Year did a remarkable job of describing just that, the importance and the evolution of web 2.0. What made the article so interesting and what I agree the most with is the fact that it is YOU, it is ME, WE are responsible for it, for its everyday improvement and growth. The web needed a new name, a better and improved one because it is not only the web anymore, there is a new version to it, a new way of looking at it. Web 2.0 is the perfect name for something that is changing our lives with every minute, with every blog, every photo comment, every picture, every lyric. I am amazed at the impact the web has had on the entire world and I admire hummanity for making it evolve the way it has. On the other hand, I fear it. I fear web 2.0 is growing too fast, is becoming to reliable and too intrusive. Our lives should not, yet will depend on web 2.0 and soon it will become an invasion of our privacy. Web 2.0 is an invasion of the world.

MICROSOFT WORD
I have been using Microsoft Word for many years now and I have definitely made the best use out of it. I was constantly trying to take advantage of all its functions and features every time I used it and therefore learned to use it very well. I believe Microsoft Word 2007 is amazing and so much better than the 2003 version. What I like most about it is how effective it is and how much time it saves you. I think it is much more organized and that way easier to use and understand. All of its functions are easily identified. I look forward to learning how to use Microsoft Word better for pictures and emails now that it was new and improved functions for that.-Miti Matamoros
Copyright Laws
In order to use a picture I got out of the web I need to make sure I cite the page or author of it to avoid violating any copyright laws. I can know if the picture has a copyright or not by checking the date it was published. Any work that was published after April 1989 has a copyright even if it does not have a copyright symbol. Some pictures are published for the public domain and that means they are free to be used by anybody without any problem. However that picture must include the words "pubic domain" in any part of it in order to be valid.
For example the picture below was taken from a website...

Next to the picture it read: Image may be scaled down and subject to copyright, meaning that it is copyrighted and cannot be taken credit for or used for personal matters. To avoid an problems and violating copyright laws I will site the page I found the picture in:

A little About Me

I live in Honduras and being three planes away from home I was nervous about attending Trinity University. I thought I would soon be home sick and would want to go back; However that as not been the case so far. The moment I arrived at Trinity I felt at home and I have loved it here. I have been fascinated by the people, the campus, the city and even the food! My name is Maria Andrea Matamoros (its long and hard to pronounce) and it is so funny how I already I will be asked to repeat my name several times when I introduce my self to new friends or teachers. I already know they will make a funny face and unsuccessfully will try to repeat it. But that's okay because when I was younger not even my older sister could pronounce it and started calling me "Miti". Since then, most people know me by that name and it is allot easier to remember.
Honduras is a beautiful country and I truly feel proud that I come from there. I miss the cool weather, the amazing beaches, the soccer games and especially the familiar faces at every corner of such a small city as Tegucigalpa. I already have my hands full with work and activities planned for this semester at Trinity.
I was a cheerleader for five years at high school so I am very interested in joining the Trinity cheerleading squad and support our teams. I love animals and have tons of pets at home. Among them, two macaws, five dogs, one fish, six love birds and two turtles. I consider that something interesting about me. Even though I use my computer all the time, post pictures, chat, send emails and download music; I am sure there is still much I have to learn about my computer and I definitely need to improve my skills.
These are some of the wonderful friends I have met at Trinity and that just like me, are happy to be here!
